Trinity Gaels Games Promotion Officer
Our new Games Promotion Officer is Neil O’Driscoll. Neil grew up next door to us in Portmarnock and has spent his whole life playing both hurling & football and developing a passion for Gaelic Games. During his playing career he was lucky enough to represent Dublin & UCD in both hurling football, his highlights being playing in 2 All Ireland Finals and winning various Leinster medals.
While Neil has an extensive playing experience it is his time spent coaching that he hopes will become an asset for Trinity Gaels in the future. Having over ten year’s practical coaching experience, starting with coaching juvenile teams in his club. Neil then went to UCD to further his knowledge in the sports field by graduating with a BSc degree in Sports Mgt from UCD. Following that he took up a position as Games Promotion Officer with the Dublin Co Board. For the past 6 years Neil has worked as a full time Games Promotion Officer for Clontarf GAA club, gaining vast experience in coaching children & youths of all ages & levels of ability. He played an important role in moving the club’s coaching structure’s/coach education programmes forward & helping develop long term juvenile & club coaching plans.
Having played with and against numerous Trinity Gaels men Neil is already familiar with the skills & core values of the club. He’s delighted with the welcome he’s received and is excited about meeting everyone involved and can’t wait to get stuck into the challenges that lie ahead. He hopes that the people of Trinity Gaels will continue to strive for improvement, from what he has seen so far with everyone involved in the club working together he can envisage big things for Trinity Gaels in the future. His overall ambition is to spread the word on our fantastic games throughout Donaghmede and hopefully help people get the same enjoyment out of the games that he had himself
